हिदा की मोरी

जयपुर में  आमेर रोड पर परसराम द्वारा के पिछवाड़े की डूंगरी पर विराजमान वरदराज विष्णु की ऐतिहासिक मूर्ति को सवाई जयसींह का साहसी सैनिक हीदा मीणा दक्षिण के कांचीपुरम से लाया था। मूर्ति लाने पर मीणा सरदार हीदा के सम्‌मान में सवाई जयसिंह ने रामगंज चौपड़ से सूरजपोल बाजार के परकोटे में एक छोटी मोरी का नाम हीदा की मोरी रखा। उस मोरी को तोड़ अब चौड़ा मार्ग बना दिया लेकिन लोगों के बीच यह जगह हीदा की मोरी के नाम से मशहूर है। देवर्षि श्री कृष्णभट्ट ने ईश्वर विलास महाकाव्य में लिखा है, कि कलयुग के अंतिम अश्वमेध यज्ञ के लिए जयपुर आए वेदज्ञाता रामचन्द्र द्रविड़, सोमयज्ञ प्रमुख् व्यास शर्मा, मैसूर के हरिकृष्ण शर्मा, यज्ञकर व गुणकर आदि विद्वानों ने महाराजा को सलाह दी थी कि कांचीपुरम में आदिकालीन विरदराज विष्णु की मूर्ति के बिना यज्ञ नहीं हो सकता हैं। यह भी कहा गया कि द्वापर में धर्मराज युधिष्ठर इन्हीं विरदराज की पूजा करते थे। जयसिंह ने कांचीपुरम के राजा से इस मूर्ति को मांगा लेकिन उन्होंने मना कर दिया। तब जयसिंह ने साहसी हीदा को कांचीपुरम से मूर्ति जयपुर लाने का काम सौंपा। हीदा ने कांचीपुरम में मंदिर के सेवक माधवन को विश्वास में लेकर मूर्ति लाने की योजना बना ली। कांचीपुरम में विरद विष्णु की रथयात्रा निकली तब हीदा ने सैनिकों के साथ यात्रा पर हमला बोला और विष्णु की मूर्ति जयपुर ले आया। इसके साथ आया माधवन बाद में माधवदास के नाम से मंदिर का महंत बना। अष्टधातु की बनी सवा फीट ऊंची विष्णु की मूर्ति के बाहर गण्शोजी व शिव पार्वती विराजमान हैं। सार संभाल के बिना खँडहर में बदल रहे मंदिर में महाराजा को दर्शन का अधिकार था। अन्य लोगों को महाराजा की इजाजत से ही दर्शन होते थे। महंत माधवदास को भोग पेटे सालाना 299 रुपए व डूंगरी से जुड़ी 47 बीघा 3 बिस्वा भूमि का पट्टा दिया गया । महंत पं. जयश्रीकृष्ण शर्मा के मुताबिक उनके पुरखों को 341 बीघा भूमि मुरलीपुरा में दी थी जहां आज विधाधर नगर बसा है। अन्त्याा की ढाणी में 191 बीघा 14 बिस्वा भूमि पर इंडियन आयल के गोदाम बन गए।
